Songstats vs Soundcharts vs Chartmetric: which one tells you when a song goes missing?

Look for a tool to monitor your music and the same three names come up: Songstats, Soundcharts and Chartmetric. All three are analytics tools. They show how your music is growing, which is a different job from telling you when a release goes missing.

Updated November 6, 2026

Short answer

Songstats, Soundcharts and Chartmetric are music analytics tools. They track streams, playlists, charts and audiences, and they alert you to things like playlist adds, chart moves and milestones. None of their own pages describes an alert for a release that is taken down or goes missing from a platform. If that's what you need, use a release monitoring tool alongside them.

What to do, in order

  1. Decide what you want to know

Growth means playlist adds, chart moves and audience numbers. Problems mean a release taken down, details changed, or a track you didn't release showing up on your profile. Analytics tools cover the first; monitoring tools cover the second.

  2. Try analytics for free first

Soundcharts has a free plan with limits and no card. Chartmetric has a limited free sign-up. Songstats has a seven-day free trial for new users.

  3. Check what's already missing

Search your catalog on each platform, or run a free scan to see whether any release is missing right now.

  4. Set up alerts for problems

Pick a tool that emails you when a release goes missing, so you hear about it the same day rather than from a fan weeks later.

Does it tell you when a release goes missing?

This is where the tools differ most. An analytics tool reports on the music it can see. Its pages don't describe an alert for a release that stops being there.

What each analytics tool is good at

Songstats brings your stats from 18 connected platforms into one feed, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Deezer, TikTok, YouTube, Beatport, SoundCloud and TIDAL. It's priced per artist, so it suits a solo artist who wants to see playlist adds and milestones as they happen.

Soundcharts covers more than 20 streaming services plus social media and radio airplay from about 2,500 stations. Its free plan is a good way to try it, and the artist plan is the cheapest paid option of the three.

Chartmetric is the broadest, with data from more than 40 platforms and over 4,000 charts. It's built for teams, and its Custom Alerts need the Premium or Ultra plan.

Why a missing release is easy to miss

Releases go missing for ordinary reasons: a takedown sent by mistake, a distributor subscription that lapsed, a rights claim, or an end date in the delivery. You don't always get a notice when it happens.

Details can change too, like a title, artwork or ISRC, and a release by someone with the same name can land on your profile. Most artists find out from a fan, or when they look at their own page.

What to do when a song disappears from Spotify

Using both

The tools do different jobs, so many artists use an analytics tool for growth and a monitoring tool for problems.

Traxure runs a full check of all 12 platforms every 24 hours. If a release goes missing on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, TIDAL, SoundCloud or Pandora, it emails you what changed, with a note to your distributor ready to send. Monitoring starts with a seven-day free trial.
