SoundCloud for Artists: plans, stats and fixing your profile

SoundCloud for Artists works differently from most artist dashboards. SoundCloud's help pages describe no separate request to claim a profile. You sign up, your account is your profile, and your plan decides how much you can see.

Short answer

SoundCloud for Artists is SoundCloud's own account, plans and distribution service for artists. SoundCloud's help pages describe no separate claim step, and an account belongs to whoever controls its sign-up email. There are three plans: Basic, Artist and Artist Pro. Every artist sees plays, likes, comments, reposts and downloads. Artist Pro adds top fans, locations and sources.

What to do, in order

  1. Sign up or sign in

Create an account or sign in to the one you already use. Use an email you will always control, because SoundCloud treats the account as belonging to whoever controls that address.

  2. Check who created your profile

A label, distributor or other rightsholder can create an account on an artist's behalf. If one did, that party handles removing or managing it.

  3. Choose your plan

Basic gives limited artist features. Artist and Artist Pro are paid plans, and Artist is only offered in select territories. Check SoundCloud's own pricing page for the current price where you live.

  4. Open your stats

On desktop, select your profile picture and choose Your Insights. The default view covers the last 30 days and doesn't count your own plays.

What you see on each plan

Basic stats come with every plan, and a higher plan adds more detail on who is listening.

  • All artists: plays, likes, comments, reposts and downloads.
  • Artist Pro: also top fans, the countries and cities they listen from, and where plays come from.

How to fix tracks on the wrong profile

The route depends on whose profile has the problem. SoundCloud warns that false copyright reports can lead to suspension and damages, so use a copyright report only when it really is your work.

  • Another artist's tracks are on your profile: use the form linked from SoundCloud's help article on tracks that belong to another artist.
  • Your tracks are on the wrong profile, or you want to merge profiles: ask your rightsholder or distributor. SoundCloud needs written confirmation from the rightsholder.
  • Someone is impersonating you: report it with your link, the other link and a brief explanation.
  • Someone uploaded your work: use the Report button on the track page or SoundCloud's copyright report form.

If SoundCloud is also your distributor

These apply only to music SoundCloud distributed. SoundCloud can't remap music that another distributor delivered.

  • Editing a live release: most stores allow changes to track names, release title, genre, release date, label name, credits, artwork and profile mapping. Send a support request with the release title and UPC, and allow 3 to 5 days after confirmation.
  • Replacing the audio: this needs a takedown and a new release.
  • A release is missing from another platform: give support the UPC and the platform to request redelivery, and allow 3 to 5 days once confirmed.

How Traxure helps

Traxure checks your releases on SoundCloud once a day, alongside Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, TIDAL and Pandora. When a release stops showing, it emails you the before, the after and a note to your distributor ready to send. It works with any distributor, and monitoring starts with a seven-day free trial.

Questions artists ask

Do I have to claim my SoundCloud profile?

SoundCloud's help pages describe no separate claim step. An account belongs to whoever controls its sign-up email. If a label or distributor created it for you, go back to them.

Can my team share a SoundCloud account?

We found no team roles in SoundCloud's help pages. SoundCloud advises against sharing an account and suggests a shared email address if you do.

Why are someone else's tracks on my SoundCloud profile?

Report it with the form linked from SoundCloud's help article on tracks that belong to another artist.

Which SoundCloud plan shows where my fans are?

Artist Pro. It adds top fans, listener locations and sources to the stats every artist gets.
